Peter Cetera – Glory Of Love (Live)
A lot of words like classic, amazing and epic get tossed around too much these days and in my opinion very prematurely in most cases. Hey kiddos, if you’re pushing for epic then pay attention here. How many strings in that section alone? Every piece in this arrangement is accounted for. This is what keeps me up all night.

The Grouch & Eligh – All In ft Pigeon John & Gift Of Gab
Pigeon John is a hook master and The Grouch is rapidly becoming one of my favorite artists. I’m All In.

This track makes me feel euphoric. Sweet.

Sir Mix-A-Lot – Beepers
Sir Mix A Lot sure can write a clever song. I’m a fan. This sounds like a Prince track musically.

Billy Idol – Rebel Yell
This song made Billy Idol the coolest dude in the world. I’m going to put on my spiked wrist wear right now.

Hall and Oates – Private Eyes
Up until Thriller videos in the 80’s were simple. And they worked. Could Daryl Hall be an underrated singer? Hmm.

X-Clan – Fire & Earth
X-Clan is probably my favorite group of all time in hip hop. Their first album “To the East, Blackwards” I believe musically influenced hip hop more than any other album. I could say so much but just look it how fresh Brother J’s jean suit is. Ha, to the east! Now yall know what inspired my red, black and green Africa tattoo.

Muja Messiah – MGM16’s (MGMT)
Minneapolis rap music! I think everybody knows by now… we kick bars. Boom. Mujah Messiah, my man keeps growing. His approach and writing are sick on this. Hold up….

November 19, 2010:
Terence Trent D’arby – Sign Your Name
D’arby was a little bit of Prince, MJ, and Milli Vanilli… Ha. I really dig this jam, it never fails to set the mood right.

November 19, 2010:
Bob Marley – No Woman No Cry (Live 1979)
A music artist is lucky to have one perfect song, Bob had more than anyone and this in my opinion is the best perfect song ever made. And it’s absolutely attributed to Bob being a special person, undoubtedly his gifts extended beyond song. There aren’t many more things in the world as powerful as Bob Marley’s music.

I read that this performance was held in the daytime because the promoters were afraid of riots, so they scheduled his set earlier. I never got that. What would there have been, riots of love?

Bobby Brown – My Prerogative
Bobby said it, so we don’t have to. Besides, you won’t say it better than him anyhow.

Chubb Rock – Ya Bad Chubs
All hail Chubb Rock. Has anyone ever had a sharper flow? This makes me wanna start doing the gumby dance. Boom. Watch and take this real Hip Hop in.

Otis Redding – (Sittin’ On) The Dock of the Bay
I was with my dad one night singing and we met a group of people from Macon, GA – that’s Otis Redding’s hometown. They asked him to sing this and he killed it. He found the notes on his guitar and took it away. From that moment Otis has been a personal project of mine. I recommend you make him yours as well.

November 13, 2010:
Jimi Hendrix – The Wind Cries Mary (Live 1967)
I’m captivated. You can feel the energy in the room just watching the video. The crowd was so mesmerized they didn’t even clap. Sometimes the crowd is applauding because they’re glad your set is done, not because they felt you. When you can tell the difference, then you’ve found your groove.

November 10, 2010:
David Bowie – Ashes To Ashes
I love this song. At the time this video was the most expensive ever made and the first of this style. David Bowie has influenced pop music more than any other artist in my opinion. He’s who I’d like to be like when I grow up. Hi Iman.

November 9, 2010:
Wiz Khalifa – This Plane
You can’t front, this homie Wiz knows how to make some catchy songs. I like him, and this is bangin. His rhyme schemes are nasty and he’s spittin flows. I like how he made it a point to display some lyrical skill on this joint. If your wondering why, it’s songs like this that got Wiz winning right now. Take notes.

Big K.R.I.T. – Children Of The World
I’m feeling Big K.R.I.T on another level from most rappers at the moment. He’s really carrying the Mack Music torch. I listen to his words and it’s like me and this kid shared backgrounds. We grew up in different places but the game is the same everywhere you go. Also I can sense his creativity goes deeper than what he’s showing at the moment. I’m glad he’s getting some ears turned on his music.

Kanye West – Performs On A Plane
Kanye drops some flows from the cockpit of a plane coming from Minneapolis going to New York. He’s the only rapper who ever makes me jealous. Gosh, he’s so dope.

Fantasia – Bittersweet
Check out this Fantasia song “Bittersweet”. The writing is great and the lyrics paint a vivid picture. She’s speaking the truth. Damn. Yall can’t front. And her vocals are… I hate this word now but… amazing.
